Little Nightmares 3 Delayed Until 2025

Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have announced that Little Nightmares 3 has been delayed until 2025.

The game was originally planned to release later in 2024, although it never had a firm date.

In an update on social media the development team says “As much as we can’t wait for you to return to the Nowhere, we also want to make sure we give the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us, and we know you feel the same way.”

Supermassive also notes that it’ll be sharing more about Little Nightmares 3 later this Summer.

Little Nightmares 3 is the first game in the series to feature co-op, and follows two new protagonists named Low and Alone as they navigate through The Nowhere. Players can make their way through the game solo with an AI companion, or bring a friend along to help. Past that, it still uses the series’ formula of exploration and horror mixed with puzzle solving.

This is also the first Little Nightmares game developed by Supermassive Games, although the studio did work on the enhanced ports of Little Nightmares 2 for PS5 and Xbox.

The first two games were developed by Tarsier Studios, which was purchased by the Embracer Group in 2019. Little Nightmares 2 is currently the last game released by the studio. Bandai Namco owns the rights to the Little Nightmares franchise.

Supermassive, on the other hand, is having a pretty huge year, even with this delay. Even though Supermassive isn’t working on it, the remaster of the hit horror game Until Dawn arrives this Fall. The studio also recently announced a narrative horror game called The Casting of Frank Stone, set in the Dead By Daylight universe.

Little Nightmares 3 is currently in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
