At Made By Google 2024, Google unveiled some of their newest wearable items, including the anticipated Pixel Watch 3 and the refreshed Pixel Buds Pro 2 for consumers.
At the Made by Google 2024 event, the tech giant splashed with a new Pixel 9 flagship smartphone lineup led by the brand-new Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, they also unveiled two new wearable accessories for their Pixel ecosystem. Announcing the revealed Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2. These new devices can work seamlessly with Pixel and Google devices while maintaining full integration into the Google ecosystem.
Made by Google 2024: Pixel Watch 3 Key Specs
- Optionality for the user: The Pixel Watch 3 arrives in two size options, with a 41mm and 45mm case. The 41mm comes in three colourways: Matte Black, Polished Silver and Champagne Gold, whereas the 45mm comes in Matte Black, Polished Silver and Matte Hazel.
- More Screen Space: Both Pixel Watch 3 variants, which were unveiled at the Made by Google 2024 event, feature more screen size. The 41mm comes with 10% more screen availability, and the 45mm arrives with a whopping 40% more screen real estate for easier-to-read functionality.
- Better Display: The Pixel Watch 3 features a 320 ppi AMOLED LTPO display with DCI-P3 colour on both sizes, with double the brightness of the Pixel Watch 2 at 2000 nits.
- Better Functionality: Compatible with smartphones running AndroidOS 10.0 or later, featuring the WearOS 5.0. The new wearable is also compatible with the previous generation charger and IP68 element resistance, so the Watch 3 can march through harsh environments.
- Better Battery & Chipset: The Pixel Watch 3 can last a full day with the “always on display” option activated, and lasts 36 hours on battery saver mode. The upgraded chipset features the powerful Qualcomm SW5100 adding the Cortex M33 co-processor to help IoT apps (like health technology applications) run smoother.
Made by Google 2024 didn’t stop at the new smartphone announcements and the Pixel Watch 3. They’ve also pulled back the curtain on the new Pixel Buds Pro 2, their latest earbud wearables to hit the Google Pixel ecosystem that will arrive with the new Tensor A1 chip. With the new powerful chip, At Made by Google 2024, Google boasts that they were able to reduce the overall size of the Buds Pro 2 by 27%, as well as make them lighter while increasing performance and battery life (when compared with the Google Buds Pro).
The new Tensor A1, in tandem with Google AI, allows the nifty device to process audio 90x faster than the speed of sound and cancel twice as much noise. Active users can utilize the new twist-to-adjust stabilizer, assuring the buds stay secure while working out or going for a jog. Google AI further enhances the overall functionality by automatically switching to Transparency Mode when speaking. Also, the Buds Pro 2 will feature full Find My Device functionality, letting consumers know where their buds are at all times.
