Studio Mechka has announced the release date for their first original IP, Marko: Beyond Brave, releasing September 17, 2024, on PC via Steam!
Marko: Beyond Brave is an indie Metroidvania that combines 90s Disney cartoons with Slavic folklore. It tells a story about Marko as he wanders through the forest and crumbling castle to fight challenging enemies inspired by Slavic myths and legends. Releasing on September 17, 2024, on Steam, are you ready to take on the foes as Marko?

Diving into the story of Marko: Beyond Brave, Entropy has escaped its prison and threatens to harm the world. It is up to Marko to save the world, who has uncovered a secret power hidden within. Equipped with a large greatsword and a giant yet stylish mustache, Marko must be brave against the ancient evil as he battles mythical creatures and creates a powerful alliance to restore the balance of evil and good. With the powers under your command and your decision impacting the world’s fate, it is time to embark on an adventure with your greatest weapon: courage.
As you explore the hand-drawn 2D world of Zagora, you’ll come across moments inspired by Slavic mythology. From exploring the lush forests and crumbling castle and battling creatures and escaping complicated traps, you’ll encounter enemies and bosses inspired by Slavic legends such as Vila, Koz’el, Urgl, Vlashko, and the Tree of Life.
Shifting the focus to Marko: Beyond Brave gameplay, the player will be travelling the massive non-linear map with hundreds of rooms, as each room is strange yet unique to stand out. From exploring each room, Marko can find hidden treasures, legendary artifacts, and crumbling monuments that reveal an ancient story. Alongside discovering treatures, you can team up with creatures and characters to help throughout your adventure and the ability to craft, upgrade, and forge weapons and tools that will help you achieve victory.
