Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Getting Huge Spring Update

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is swinging into spring with a major content update coming March 7th. The highly-anticipated 1.002 patch will introduce a New Game Plus mode and new suits, including collaborations with accessibility nonprofit Gameheads and additional accessibility options.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus will allow players to replay the game from the beginning on an unlocked Ultimate difficulty. All suits, gadgets, skills, and collectibles will carry over, allowing fans to fully flex Spider-Man’s capabilities against tougher enemies. Players can also jump directly into individual missions or challenges they enjoyed without replaying the full campaign.

For those dedicated enough to reach the Ultimate Level in New Game Plus, even more rewards await. Golden versions of Spider-Man’s iconic gadgets can be unlocked, visually distinguishing hardcore players. If that were not enough, new suit power variants and additional skill points beyond the base game’s cap also become available.

Four new suits are being added in the 1.002 update, headlined by stylish looks from the X-Men’s Hellfire Gala event. Spider-Man and Miles Morales will both receive slick new formalwear suits to face off against rogues’ gallery members in style.

Two suits designed in collaboration with Gameheads will also be available for free. Gameheads is a nonprofit focused on increasing diversity and inclusion in the games industry by providing education programs and career opportunities to youth from low-income backgrounds. Artists from the organization created the vibrant Fly n’ Fresh suits for Peter Parker and Miles Morales, respectively. These stylish suits will come with new photo mode stickers and frames to capture their debut.

Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack includes:

  • Fly Suit for Peter
  • Fresh Suit for Miles
  • 10 photo mode stickers
  • 2 photo mode frames

Finally, the massive update brings several new accessibility options for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. These include improved contrast levels, customizable subtitle sizing and backgrounds, and audio cues for objectives to aid visually impaired gamers. The team at Insomniac Games continues prioritizing refinements, allowing more players to enjoy web-slinging through New York City.

With new challenges, suits, options, and excuses to revisit an acclaimed superhero adventure, the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 1.002 update should excite fans when it swings onto PlayStation 5 systems on March 7th. As Community Director of Insomniac Games, James Stevenson said, ” Thanks to everyone for all of your support, and we can’t wait to see you swinging back through Marvel’s New York in your Hellfire Gala and Fly N’ Fresh suits while checking out New Game+!”
