Amazon MGM Studios has finally debuted its full official trailer for the new live-action Masters of the Universe film, and it reveals more characters of Eternia.

The first trailer for Masters of the Universe showed fans that the 1980s aesthetic isn’t lost on the new modernized He-Man film. This second trailer expands that notion and gives fans a look at the main characters, Eternia, and the eternal struggle of good versus evil. The new trailer can be seen below (spoiler alert, there’s no “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes here).

This updated film reboot of Masters of the Universe from director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back after lying dormant following Netflix’s successful revival in 2021. The film follows Prince Adam after being separated from his homeland for 15 years, and he now lives as a regular guy on Earth. The Sword of Power leads him back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the tyrannic rule of Skeletor. To save his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

The Masters of the Universe ensemble features a star-studded cast with Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Jared Leto as Skeletor. The film project reportedly had a long road to the silver screen, with development reportedly going back to 2007 when John Woo was attached to direct. The title has undergone several rewrites over the years and has finally made it to the finish line.

Masters of the Universe will land in theatres on June 8, and fans will be able to return to the live-action Eternia, which has lain dormant since 1987, where Dolph Lundgren played the titular role.
