Mirror's Edge Catalyst Reveals Story Details

The upcoming sequel to the free running title, Mirror’s Edge, has just released a story trailer as well as a wealth of new information on the city and world it takes place in.

Glass is a pristine city and the third largest within Cascadia, boasting a population of close to five million residents. It’s a thriving metropolis that’s made up of several districts and run by the Conglomerate. The Conglomerate is a collection of 13 corporations that are run by affluent families and are locked in an on-going power struggle.

While the Conglomerate is essentially running Glass, it’s only one of the three factions that live within the city limits. Runners and Black November are the other two. Runners are a group of, well, runners; they stick to rooftops and avoid the security of KrugerSec. They provide a private courier service to those willing to pay; the Conglomerate secretly employs them when they need discretion.

Black November is a resistance movement that is led by Rebecca Thane, a once prominent protest leader. They constantly try to incite revolution and commit violence against the authorities. While they tried to keep the general public out of their attacks, Thane seems to be shifting her aim to demonstrate the consequences of their silent consent.

Faith, recently released from prison, has been drawn into a struggle against the Conglomerate. Check out the new trailer below, it shows off some new characters and gives us some insight to the plot.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst launches May 24 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
