Multiversus doesn’t have a release date yet, but the game’s director has already shared a few characters he’d like to see added to the game.
Considering Multiversus brings together different Warner Bros. properties, the possibilities are nearly limitless. On Twitter, a user named @BeefDerky27 asked Multiversus director Tony Huynh if the team is able to include horror villains in the game. Huynh responded, “If the IP holder says yes, I would be for it.”
Warner Bros. owns the right to iconic horror villains like Freddy Kreuger and Jason Voorhees, so it’s certainly possible they could appear if executives at WB approve it. There are plenty of other films and franchises as well, like Gremlins, IT, Annabelle, and more.
In other character-related news, a datamine of Multiversus may have revealed a couple of planned characters that are actually going to come to the game. Potential leaks have started popping up all over Reddit, and user THE_XENO_KING has been posting a variety of datamined voice lines for characters like The Iron Giant, Marvin the Martian, and LeBron James.
There are also lines for unconfirmed characters like Rick Sanchez, Gizmo, Raven, and perhaps most interestingly, Eleven from Stranger Things. A couple of voice lines seems to heavily suggest Eleven’s presence, with The Iron Giant saying “Eleven friend,” and Raven saying “Alright El, let’s crush him like a soda can.” Stranger Things is a property owned by Netlfix, not Warner Bros., so the inclusion of Eleven could mean that the game plans to include guest characters from outside franchises. All of this seems to suggest Multiversus is going to have a pretty sizable roster.
Here’s the full currently confirmed characters list for Multiversus:
- Wonder Woman
- Harley Quinn
- Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
- Taz (Looney Tunes)
- Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)
- Velma (Scooby-Doo)
