Netflix’s You Season 5 Trailer Reveals Joe Goldberg’s Final Blood-Soaked Chapter

Coming After You On April 24th

Netflix's You Season 5: Killer New Trailer Shows New Cast

Netflix released the first official trailer for You Season 5, showing off the beginning of the end for serial killer Joe Goldberg.

You, you, you…It is finally here. Today, the first official trailer from Netflix’s psychological thriller You Season 5 dropped along with new images featuring the new and returning cast ensemble. As everyone’s favourite serial killer, Joe Goldberg, is put into the world spotlight, he will be fighting for his life in this final chapter.

The trailer showed off Penn Badgley’s Joe up to his typical no-good stealth-kill quests while trying to avoid detection or attention. However, things will be harder than ever for Joe this time around. Netflix wrote: “In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”

Badgley and Charlotte Ritchie will be reprising their roles, but they will not have their happily ever after so easily. It will be intriguing to see how the new cast members get in their way: Griffin Matthews (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale). As Joe returns down memory lane in New York City, his demons at Mooney’s bookstore may catch back up to him.

Camp’s character looked like some kind of CEO or bigwig who could be thwarting Joe’s plans in a way he did not expect. It is possible she is the person who exposes Joe for who he is to the world with her power grab for Kate Galvin’s company. With Joe adjusting to being a celebrity figure, assassinations and killing will surely become more difficult. It will also make it harder for him to stalk his new female obsession, Bronte, played by Brewer.

What is even crazier about Joe returning to New York City is that Badgley told Tudum this was also a trip down memory lane for him. “Returning to the Mooney set on these stages was particularly poignant because this is where we shot Gossip Girl. And I hadn’t really been back here except for one day of camera testing a long time ago.” While the first season of You was filmed on a different lot, the actor had not returned to the set in more than a decade.

Like the previous four seasons, You Season 5 will contain ten episodes, bringing the total series count to 50 total episodes. Fans of You can witness the final chapter for Joe on April 24th, streaming on Netflix. Will Joe be able to hold on to his perfect life? Is Kate truly “The One” for him? All of these questions will be answered in this bloody, epic conclusion.
