Microsoft dropped a slew of Xbox announcements, revealing new Forza Horizon 6 peripherals, the latest Game Pass lineup, and a showcase.
The days are slowly getting brighter for Xbox gamers, as today saw multiple announcements from Microsoft. The green gaming team officially uncovered all details about its Forza Horizon 6 wireless controller and headset, the latest Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 lineup, and the upcoming ID@Xbox showcase. The showcase will take place later this week, on Thursday, April 23 at 10:00am PT / 1:00pm ET / 5:00pm GMT.
Today marks the official announcement of the Forza Horizon 6 peripheral set, even though fans knew it was already coming. Images already leaked earlier this month, but had a 47-second trailer showing it off. Both the headset and controller are available to pre-order now, and will be out on May 19—the same day the game drops. The controller costs $89.99, and the headset costs $134.99. Forza Horizon 5 had its own limited edition controller when the game released in 2021. Plus, this is the second limited edition headset for the Xbox Series X/S, the first being for Starfield.
Described as “one of the most vibrant controllers Xbox has ever released”, the limited edition wireless controller has a transparent cyan blue case with a metallic gradient. It features volt green, hot pink and silver accents, as well as a silver metallic D-Pad and two-tone rubberized diamond grips. The headset will also have custom sound effects, which will play during certain actions such as turning the headset on and off, pairing devices, and muting and unmuting the mic.
Game Pass will be seeing an overhaul in the coming weeks, with ten new games joining the lineup. Nine titles will be leaving the Game Pass library as of April 30. Final Fantasy games appear to be increasing on Game Pass, while Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 exits right after its latest announcement for its final DLC and sequel title coming soon.
