On Tuesday, Nintendo Switch 2 rumours escalated again, and accessories for the upcoming Nintendo successor console have apparently leaked.
Starting with yesterday, Nintendo Switch 2 rumours have hit another huge level, with the alleged leak of the joy-con handles that will ship with the successor Nintendo console. The first rumour comes from Bilibili, and what’s reported is the supposed difference between the current joy-con controller and the alleged Switch 2 joy-con. The Switch 2 (from the video shared) joy-cons have design differences, including more buttons on each handle device for the console. Each controller allegedly comes with a whole other back button for users to handle, but its purpose hasn’t been determined by any of the leaks thus far.

The next leak came from the online marketplace, Alibaba. On Tuesday, pictures of alleged Nintendo Switch 2 protective cases and screen protectors appeared on the site, and those who have the accessories in hand show the differences between the original Switch screen protector and this newly designed one. The Nintendo Switch 2 (from these images) appears to have a smaller screen than its predecessor in the comparison images.
In the images featuring the Switch 2 protective cases, the accessories are shown holding original Nintendo Switch software cartridges which helps the authenticity of the images due to the previous report of the Switch 2 being backwards compatible with original Switch titles. This could also potentially ‘prove’ that the successor console will also use carts as physical software, as was previously rumoured by many other leaks regarding the upcoming console.

It’s important to note that while speculation could be fun, all the information presented from these sites has yet to be corroborated by Nintendo or anyone associated with the Nintendo Switch 2, so fans should take all news regarding the successor console with a grain of salt until Nintendo themselves make an official announcement.
Nintendo said the console would be revealed before the end of the fiscal year (which lands firmly in March 2025), so fans will likely not have to wait much longer until an official announcement is made.
