'Nintendo Switch 2' Release Date Rumours Heat Up Again

Earlier this month, speculation on a Nintendo Switch 2 release window opened just wide enough for people to take notice, and today the window slid open a little wider.

If you’ve been on the internet, you have more than likely seen Nintendo Switch 2 rumours of all calibres. Today, these rumours have resurfaced as more information has come out about a ‘potential’ release window for the next console in Nintendo‘s lineup. Although there is nothing confirmed from Nintendo regarding either of these circumstantial cases, the information does seem to point in the direction that the Nintendo Switch 2 (if that’s even the name of the console) will have a release window of Q1 2024.

The first report came on July 7, from a news report about Foxconn’s business. The Chinese website MoneyDJ discusses the Foxconn business structure and iPhone reinforcements, specifically with titanium alloy frames. But in the meat of the article (loosely translated by Google), a tidbit about gaming machines comes up, “in the second half of the year, with the advent of the traditional peak season, the purchase of game consoles is expected to increase compared with the first half of the year. Nintendo plans to launch the Switch in Q1 next year.” This is purely based on the Hongzhun company’s dealings with the production aspect of electronic chassis’ and modules.

The second bit of interesting circumstantial evidence comes from the same MoneyDJ site (thanks to NotebookCheck) but from a different company on July 24. The company PixArt Imaging has worked with Nintendo before on the Wii and the Nintendo Switch, and it seems they’re continuing with the Switch 2. A noteworthy passage reads from MoneyDJ (again, loosely translated by Google) “However, it is worth noting that the supply chain pointed out that the Japanese game machine will be launched early next year, which has been absent for many years, the game machine is also one of the key customers of PixArt.”

So, these two reports from the Chinese-language business site MoneyDJ both have the Nintendo Switch 2 slated for Q1 2024 with circumstantial evidence to support the claim. Readers should take the current coincidental reports with a grain of salt, however, as until Nintendo themselves announce something regarding their next console, it’s still speculation. Fans can read the original MoneyDJ report from July 24 here.
