Overwatch 2's Revealed The New Hero Hazard & This Weekend He Can Be Played FREE

This week, Blizzard Entertainment has pulled back the curtain on the newest Overwatch 2 hero, Hazard, and to coincide with the reveal he can be played this weekend for free.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the newest Tank Hero to grace the battlefield of Overwatch 2 for Season 14, and the newest tank hero is playable all weekend before he officially joins the roster in when the Season starts. Hazard is a charismatic hero who dons a Punk Rocker exterior but is a true defending hero under the rough edges. The announcement comes with a trailer revealing what Hazard is capable of, and it can be seen below.

Hazard’s kit includes several tank abilities designed to stop opponents in their tracks. His play style is a “punch first, ask questions later” approach—typical of most tanks on the roster—and his abilities focus on mobility and defence. His first ability, Jagged Wall, creates a spiky wall of Vanadium that sticks to any surface, including walls and ceilings, damaging opponents who come into contact with it. The Overwatch 2 newcomer also has a Vault passive that allows him to easily navigate his created terrain, enabling smooth traversal through stages despite his large frame.

His other activated ability is called Violent Leap, and as shown in the trailer, it’s a lunging overhead smash that wallops opponents with a medium-range assault. Violent Leap offers a two-stage mobility option, offering a new choice when attacking unsuspecting adversaries. Players can melee mid-Violent Leap, and it causes Hazard to slash mid-jump, which can create devastating attacking combos.

ounding out the bruiser playstyle, Hazard comes equipped with Bonespur, a close-to-midrange shotgun that fires bursts of spikes at adversaries. The secondary loadout trigger is for Hazard’s Spike Guard, which blocks incoming damage from the front and retaliates with a volley of Vanadium spikes at the attacker.

Overwatch 2 players can join the fray now and deploy as the new hero, Hazard, to dispense shells and fists on the competition. Hazard is available for free until Nov. 25, and will return to the roster when Season 14 kicks off on Dec. 10.
