Celebrating PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary, Govee collaborates with Bandai Namco to launch the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light for a limited time.
As a grandfather of the 1980s gaming, the beloved PAC-MAN is celebrating its 45th anniversary. From collecting pellets and evading ghosts during the arcade era to battling Mario in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Bandai Namco is collaborating with Govee to launch the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light from October 27, blending classic gaming with innovative lighting technology.
Originally named PUCK-MAN, the arcade title was released in July 1980 in Japan and gained popularity due to its simplicity and progression of challenges. As PUCK-MAN, players collect pellets while avoiding four ghosts to complete the level, while strategizing the right time to grab the Power Pellet to become temporarily invincible and eliminate the ghosts. As the game entered the United States in October 1980, PUCK-MAN was renamed PAC-MAN and continued to thrive in popularity, resonating with many gamers’ hearts.
The PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light features exclusive packaging and PAC-MAN-inspired lighting effects, allowing fans to immerse themselves with PAC-MAN and the four ghosts, Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde, all displayed in six special pixel art effects. Powered by Govee’s advanced LED technology and TÜV Rheinland flicker-free certified, users can select 150+ preset scene modes set at 30fps, from static pixel arts to a dynamic GIF. In addition to the preset scenes, users can customize the dashboard display, from weather forecasts to stopwatches and countdown widgets.
Alongside its abundance of lighting features, the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT, allowing users to control the light through voice commands or automation scenes.
With the Govee Home app, users can import GIFs, images, and utilize the multi-layer animation editing. Alongside customizing the display, the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light integrates AI Lighting Bot technology, enabling users to create pixel art from a library of materials and sync it with their Govee device to create an immersive pixel world.
Featuring a sleek and mechanical design, the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light can be installed in various ways to suit the user’s gaming setup, from being mounted on the wall to being used as a desktop display, with over 20 preset gaming pixel animations for an immersive atmosphere. To further immerse in games, the PAC-MAN Govee Gaming Pixel Light can connect to the Govee HDMI 2.1 Sync Box via the Govee App, creating a DreamView gaming experience and capturing game visuals in real time.
