The hotly anticipated title Phantom Blade Zero revealed a brand-new gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest from the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California today.

After numerous trailer reveals and game updates, this year’s Summer Game Fest show closed out with a gameplay trailer for Phantom Blade Zero. After being framed for a murder, Soul is severely injured, managed to find a cure but it only lasts for 66 days, so Soul must find out who is behind this, fighting very strong enemies and unfathomable monsters.

Phantom Blade Zero‘s gameplay trailer shows some very intense combat using swords, spears, katanas and more. There are also some in-combat Quick Time Events to deal with so make sure your reflexes are tight going into the fight. Enemies in Phantom Blade Zero appear to be very powerful and very challenging, so ensuring you are appropriately prepared for each battle would be in your best interest.

Phantom Blade Zero appears to take inpiration from a number of popular titles through the years, with wall-running reminiscent of Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed, and the hack n’ slash combat of games like Devil May Cry.

Developers S-Game, a studio based in Beijing, China, are well known for other titles such as Phantom Blade: Executioners which is available on Android, iOS, PS5 and PC, and Mad Crown, which is a roguelike RPG available on PC.
