The Pokémon Company finally launched the digital trading card game platform, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and it’s available everywhere.
After being previously teased, on Wednesday the Pokémon Company finally launched the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket TCG app, a new reimagining of the experience collecting Pokémon TCG cards brings, but in an innovative digital format. The app offers a brand new way for fans to collect, trade, store and show off their favourite Pocket Monsters but in a new format made for devices almost every fan carries daily. The trailer confirms that trainers who have installed the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app can do all of the above-mentioned activities, but also battle one another wielding collected galleries of favourite creatures in-game. The new Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was announced this year at the Pokémon Presents held on Pokémon Day back in February 2024, and the Pokémon TCG creator Creatures Inc., and Masters Ex creator DeNA have teamed up for the big launch. Fans will note that the new app is free-to-start and contains in-app purchases to collect more Pokémon faster.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Key Features
- Open booster packs – Like in the real-life card game, players will be able to open booster packs in-game! Trainers can rip two per day at no cost. Also, the added wonder pick feature allows players to randomly snag one card from packs opened by other players globally, providing an opportunity to collect cards in other languages.
- Collect cards – Players can collect cards with nostalgic Pokémon Trading Card Game illustrations and new artwork featured only in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. In addition, some exclusive cards feature special visual effects that can only be achieved on the digital platform, letting players leap into the world of the card’s illustration.
- Organization & Customization are Key – Players can personalize their digital card collections with various features, including display boards, named binders and special effects that can be applied to a card, as well as utilize card sleeves, deck boxes and mats to really show off.
- Engage in Battles – With new streamlined rules optimized for mobile devices, players can enjoy quick single-player and multiplayer. The app also provides various features that make the onboard ramp to battling approachable for beginners and casual players, including automatic battles, rental decks and more.
