KRAFTON, the developers behind the battle royale game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, have announced that they are releasing a brand new game under early access, PUBG: BLINDSPOT.
Switching the formula from the original’s battle royale tactics, PUBG: BLINDSPOT is instead marketed as a top-down 5v5 tactical shooter. The game focuses on fast-paced, high-intensity indoor firefights while incorporating CQB (Close Quarter Battle) tactics and team strategy. This spin-off of the mainline game is actually set decades after the events of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, with BLINDSPOT keeping the same core identity while also exploring new creative directions.

As the early access launches, it will mark the beginning of an open development phase, as the developers call it. This phase will have the development team and players working together to refine the gameplay and expand the content included ahead of the full release. Feedback from players will play a major role in the development of PUBG: BLINDSPOT, with plans for numerous updates to improve the depth, balance, and overall quality of the game.
“Early Access allows players to become active participants in the development process,” said Seungmyeong Yang, Production Director of PUBG: BLINDSPOT. “By launching as a free-to-play title and developing openly with the community, we aim to shape PUBG: BLINDSPOT together through ongoing communication and frequent updates.”
Even on launch day, new content is being planned for players to have fun and compete with. Starting with a new defence-exclusive character, Blaze, which will introduce Molotov-based area control mechanics that enable new team strategies and team compositions. If we look ahead to the full release, Competitive Season 1 is scheduled to begin on February 12, one week after the early-access launch.

As a celebration to kick off the season, creator tournaments featuring 20 streamers each on Twitch and CHZZK will compete to showcase the unique playstyles achievable in-game while also allowing the game’s depth to shine. “Starting with PUBG: BLINDSPOT, the PUBG IP will continue to expand into new genres and platforms, bringing new experiences to fans around the world,” said Taeseok Jang, Head of PUBG IP Franchise.
Early access will be available worldwide for free on Steam, while also supporting NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Interested players can follow the development process by adding PUBG: BLINDSPOT to their Steam Wishlist and joining the game’s official Discord.
