Runescape: Dragonwilds has launched into early access this month, and the developers at Jagex have announced a major Agility skill update.
With the 0.12.1 release, Jagex is delighted to introduce an addition to RuneScape: Dragonwilds: the Agility skill. With Agility, players can build up their stamina and sculpt themselves into a speed machine capable of making record-breaking time (at least where races are concerned).
Across Ashenfall, you’ll find a whopping six new stations with flags for potential speed demons to interact with (with leaderboards filled with times to beat). A trail of orbs to gather along a fixed course will be provided, and from there, you will have to provide the speed necessary to leave other players in your dust. Players will be able to continually repeat the courses over and over, assuring the proper audience they can aspire to place first and attain gold. Jagex has also produced a trailer showcasing Agility, and it can be seen below.
On top of the new Agility skill challenges, Runescape: Dragonwilds has already implemented one of their biggest updates to date: players can now add a horizontal dash to their double jump, with the ability to unlock a secondary horizontal dash at high levels. This adds a whole new level to vertical movement and gives players a new tool to tackle Agility skill courses with. The Agility skill can also be improved in Runescape: Dragonwilds, allowing players with a higher skill to consume less stamina while sprinting, and higher Agility players who double as pack mules to hoard more items in their inventory.
In addition to improvements to the Agility Skill, the team has also deployed several core, UI, and skill upgrades, including improved responsiveness when blocking, damage telegraph time, a tuck-and-roll animation to non-fatal falls, and ammo switching functionality. Players will also have reduced movement while casting certain spells, and the Mystic Forge will now allow players to upgrade Masterworks and Weapons to higher tiers. All in the name of game balance.

Jagex also revealed today that physical editions of RuneScape: Dragonwilds are coming and will be available to purchase later this year for both (ironically) PlayStation and XBOX platforms. Available in both a Standard and Deluxe edition, the physical edition will come with stunning box art and a physical disc. The Digital Deluxe edition for Xbox and PlayStation will be available when the game launches on September 15; the physical standard and Deluxe editions will be available for PC, XBOX Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on November 5, 2026.
