With there being survivors from the last installment, Scream 6 picks up with the very same almost victims in New York City with series staples.
Every Halloween brings Ghostface mask wearers huddling in the NYC train stations on their way to their spooky location, but this time the real killer is seen on the subway of the very same NYC. The new teaser trailer released regarding Scream 6 shows that even killers need to go from point A to point B. The trailer can be seen below.
Although the NYC subway translates well around Halloween time in the trailer, there’s a harrowing feeling that more than one Ghostface will be riding the subway at once, considering the survivors of the previous entry are likely reeling from the last entry’s conclusion in Woodsboro.
While series staples such as the titular Ghostface making their appearance, and Courteney Cox reprising her role as Gale Weathers, the sixth entry is missing Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, who has since vocalized why she wouldn’t be appearing in this entry.

In an interview with People, Campbell stated “I did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise, for 25 years,” including “In my soul, I just couldn’t do that. I couldn’t walk on set feeling that — feeling undervalued and feeling the unfairness, or lack of fairness, around that,” regarding her offer after a tenure of 25 years in the role for the franchise.
The franchise is still moving forward with Scream 6, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding are set to star in the entry, with the return of Scream 4‘s Hayden Panettiere as survivor Kirby Reed. With Matt Bettinelli-Olpin returning as director from the 2022 Scream film.
Scream 6 will land exclusively in theatres on March 10, 2023.
