SEGA has officially delayed Sonic Rumble to Spring 2025, promising expanded content, new modes, and refined gameplay.
The newest SEGA multiplayer party game that inserts players into the capable toy-like bodies of Sonic heroes, Sonic Rumble, has been officially delayed today. SEGA delivered the announcement from their official Sonic Japanese X (formerly Twitter) account, and it can be seen below.
In a statement, Sega said, “We would like to extend a huge thank you to our players and Sonic fans for their patience in waiting for the global launch of Sonic Rumble,” continuing, “The team is committed to delivering a memorable experience for Sonic fans with even more new game mechanics, new features and more exciting content to look forward to.”
The translated version of the X post (via Google) reads, “By adding new gameplay and elements that have never been seen before, we are creating a game that everyone can enjoy for a long time!” The development team appears to be fine-tuning the title before launch, which pushed the release from its initial winter launch window.
Sega didn’t leave fans waiting on Sonic Rumble in the dark, at least. The company has also published a new official roadmap for Sonic Rumble, outlining key timeframes fans should take note of. The previous winter release for the title has now been replaced by pre-launch and pre-registration periods—common in mobile games to gauge interest, as seen with HoYoverse—leading up to the official global launch in spring 2025. New modes will also be added to Sonic Rumble in the roadmap, with 12 new stages planned, along with new quick play and competitive game modes coming in future updates. The roadmap can be seen below.

Fans won’t have much longer to wait, as Sonic Rumble will be releasing at a TBD date in Spring 2025, so stay tuned to CGMagazine for more details as they come available.
