It’s time to don your Spidey mask, as Sony Pictures has announced Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This film will continue Peter’s adventure as a forgotten person but a beloved superhero.
During the CinemaCon presentation, Sony Pictures announced the title of the fourth Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release on July 31, 2026. While information about the upcoming movie is scarce, director Destin Daniel Cretton noted that filming will begin this summer.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows up on Peter’s previous antics in Spider-Man: No Way Home after he erased his identity to spare his friends from danger and close the multiverse portal. Hopefully, during the film, our questions are answered about how Peter is dealing with his day-to-day life as a forgotten citizen yet a beloved crime-fighting superhero, and if he will get his life back.
During the presentation, Tom Holland shared a video explaining his absence and what he could share about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, stating: “I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie. I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that, that’s all I can say.”
Alongside the announcement of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we have finally learned that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is expected to premiere on June 4, 2027. Planned for release in July 2023, the film was delayed due to production issues. This upcoming movie follows up on Miles Morales as he is transported to an alternate reality where his counterpart has become Prowler. The original team from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with additional help from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, prepare to embark on a quest to save Miles.
Quite exciting news for many Spider-Man fans: finally getting news about Spider-Man 4 and animated Spider-Man films. Although not much information was shared, fans can finally rest knowing Spider-Man: Brand New Day is premiering on July 31, 2026, and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to premiere on June 4, 2027.
