Spider-Man: Edge of Time swings in with a debut trailer

The first trailer for the new Spider-Man game looks eerily familiar.

Activision has released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and while the time-skipping storyline might have potential, the game is otherwise looking like a lazier version of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions in pretty much every single way. Beenox doesn’t seem to have made any changes to the gameplay and the 2099 freefalling sections have been copied wholesale, so while the game can still be fun – hitting things with Spider-Man’s fists is always a good starting point for a developer – it’s definitely not going to win any points for originality.

The trailer is below. It’s not bad, but it’s really hard to overlook the fact that it looks exactly like its predecessor.
