Netflix has dropped a bombshell with a post revealing everything about Stranger Things Season 5 ahead of the series finale.
On Wednesday, Stranger Things Day (Nov. 6)—the day in the show’s lore when Will Byers first enters the Upside Down—Netflix unleashed a torrent of information, including a teaser video, about the upcoming series finale. It confirmed that the final season will air in 2025. Another confirmation in the Season 5 announcement is that the final season will see the fictional town of Hawkins, Ind., take a forward time jump. Season 5 is set in the fall of 1987, four years after the events of the first season. The brief teaser Netflix released to fans today can be seen below.
Although the teaser for Season 5 didn’t include any actual footage from the series, it did reveal the titles of every episode, harkening back to previous episodes in the series. For example, Episode 2 is titled “The Vanishing of…,” a nod to the very first episode of Stranger Things, released in 2016, titled “The Vanishing of Will Byers.” It has also been confirmed that the final season will feature eight episodes, which are expected to be “very long.” The episode titles are listed below.
Stranger Things Season 5 Episode Titles

- Sorcerer

The only other tidbit fans have received about the mystery surrounding Stranger Things Season 5 is from the official Stranger Things X (formerly Twitter) account, which shared the opening scene of Season 5, Episode 1. It begins with: “DARKNESS. The sound of cold wind, groaning trees, and… a child’s voice. Singing a familiar song:” and that’s where Netflix cuts the teaser on its official X account. Fans can visit the Tudum Netflix site for the full teaser, but otherwise, they’ll have to remain patient for more updates on Stranger Things Season 5.
