A Nintendo Switch 2 edition for Stray was released today, with upgraded visuals for the occasion.
After warming the hearts of cat-loving gamers in 2022, Stray is bringing the feline fun to the Nintendo Switch 2 starting today as a digital copy on the Nintendo eShop. Fresh features for the Nintendo Switch 2 edition include upgraded visuals, 4K, improved frame rate, and mouse control. For those living in Japan, you can expect to see a physical edition of Stray for the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in the future.
Stray is an adventure game where you play as a cat travelling through a far-future cyberpunk environment, leaping across obstacles, climbing terrain, and solving puzzles to progress your journey. You can meow at and nuzzle up to the NPCs of the game, robot citizens of this cyberpunk city. You are accompanied by B-12, a drone companion that translates languages, stores items, and helps this cat interact with the more technological parts of puzzles that those paws can’t quite work themselves.
The developers of Stray, BlueTwelve Studio, based in Montpellier, France, don’t have any news on a new title. Game publisher Annapurna Interactive has a lot of experience publishing indie titles and is also responsible for publishing the recent hit Mixtape, getting a 10/10 review score from not only us, but many other game reviewers around the world. A division of Annapurna, Annapurna Animation, is developing a feature adaptation of the game, though we don’t currently have a date for when this animation is set to release.
You can now experience the feline adventure of Stray on Nintendo Switch 2, available via the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 USD. Stray is also available on XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
