At the end of every year, a culmination of gaming’s finest moments are brought to audiences and The Game Awards 2022 is no exception.
The biggest celebration of this year in gaming, The Game Awards are almost among us. Like The Oscars, or Emmys, this is where the most accomplished titles convene with some of the biggest names in gaming to not only celebrate the year’s accomplishments, but celebrate game makers too. More importantly, fans are involved as well. The Game Awards 2022 is of course hosted by staple front man Geoff Keighley, and he has hosted every rendition since the fall of the former Spike Video Game Awards.
Geoff Keighley himself said in a Reddit AMA thread “My favorite memory? Oh wow, great question. Playing Red Dead Redemption was really special to me….when Far Away started playing. I was like THIS is the apex of gaming. I’m excited for a lot of stuff….but can’t answer that question without spoiling some of next week’s big reveals :)” which may allude to this being a MUST SEE event. A massive lineup with the likes of God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and even Indie titles such as Cult of the Lamb and Tunic, this is set to be a huge event.
Last year’s Game Awards show revealed a multitude of trailers for fans, showing off what’s to come in gaming, and this year the show aims to bring another array of trailers and announcements for gamers aside from who was top dog in 2022.
How To Watch The Game Awards 2022
The Game Awards is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. EST tonight, but there is a pre-show like last year that starts at 7:30 p.m. EST, and fans wont want to miss that considering there may be trailers and new information regarding upcoming title reveals.
Fans can tune in to the official Twitch channel, the YouTube live stream, and IF fans watch on the Steam platform, Valve is giving away a Steam Deck every single minute to fans so that might be the proper move.
The Game Awards will kick-off TONIGHT with the pre-show starting at 7:30 p.m. EST, with exciting giveaways detailed on the official website, and with a trimmed down runtime of about 2:30 as compared to last years 4 hour event, it’s much more manageable.
