Red Barrel has launched the latest update to The Outlast Trials, Project Breach, with a new story and features, alongside a limited-time holiday event to partake in.
The Outlast Trials: Project Breach launches today, introducing players to the role of an asylum escapee in a new trial, environment, enemy, and ability. Marking a fresh chapter in the multiplayer horror game, players will take on the role of Amelia Collier, an asylum escapee fighting back against the Murkoff Corporation. Alongside this update, a limited-time holiday event called Winter Kills will run throughout the holiday season in two parts.
Diving deep into The Outlast Trials: Project Breach, the players will be playing as an asylum escapee named Amelia Collier (voiced by Caroline Dhavernas), fuelled by grief and determined to take down the Murkoff Corporation to put a stop to their cruel and twisted experiments. As she embarks on her mission, she will be faced with a new trial titled the ‘Pleasure the Prosecutors’ in the ‘downtown’ environment as it features a murderous mobster Franco and his trusty teeth-filled shotgun and a new story ending set in the Republic of Congo.
As you fight against the Murkoff Corporation in The Outlast Trials: Project Breach, you will be taking on two MK challenges. The first challenge is ‘Reunite the Family’, as you must release an orphan from the shackles of the state and reunite the child with his mother and father. The second challenge is ‘Deface the Duttermans’, which focuses on how childhood memories are a stagnation that hinders your growth, and you must put away the childish things that could clutter your mind. But as you take on the challenges, there will be a new ability called The Jammer Rig, designed to disable electronic devices and disrupt the Trial environment while securing extra loot for yourself and your teammates.
Stepping foot into Project Breach in The Outlast Trials, there will be a new enemy called ‘The Molotov’, a cunning enemy that will give you many troubles during your mission. Wielding a powerful ranged weapon, The Molotov will throw Molotov Cocktails that will explode on impact and form dangerous zones of fire.

As the players complete The Outlast Trials: Project Breach, there will be a limited-time event, Winter Kills, for the holiday seasons with Part 1 taking place from December 10th to December 24th and Part 2 running from December 24th to January 7th. The events included are:
- Collect the Gifts – Earn extra rewards as you collect all the gifts in the Trial.
- Cold Snap – The Trial environment is filled with piercing cold air, and you must hide to survive the cruel conditions.
- Frost Mines – The frost mines have replaced the gas mines.
