Caldera Interactive has unveiled its newest game, The Rabbit Haul, with a new gameplay trailer and a Steam demo.
The rogue-lite farming and tower defense game will have its first demo up on Steam on March 18th, 2026. The Rabbit Haul focuses on a little bunny named sprout a committed rabbit determined to restore their hometown after it was torn to shreds by the mischievous Trash Panda Posse. Every run that little sprout does is focused around the gameplay loop of planning and preparing during the day, surviving the night, and then coming back stronger for the next attempt.

The day phase in The Rabbit Haul is focused on one thing: preparing. During this phase, players can spend as much time as they want doing anything they want to do; there is no time limit. While the sun is still up, players can plant and harvest crops, defensive plant towers can be placed and groomed, and the garden becomes a puzzle to complete. If a player plants wrong and doesn’t use the synergies of different plants to their advantage, you’re gonna have a bad time once night falls.
When night does fall, by your own permission, survival is up to you. Trash Pandas will begin to assault your farm in waves with different enemy types requiring a different strategy entirely. Plan accordingly. As every run progresses, the nights will gradually get harder, which also demands stronger towers, plants, and plans to make it until dawn.

Aside from the farm itself, The Rabbit Haul has an entire hub world that can be visited when daylight covers the land. Populated with quests, vendors, regards, and unexpected helpers, it will stay unaffected even when failure inevitably happens. Each run is just a new opportunity to experiment with the mechanics, play long enough, and eventually, a great strategy or upgrade will appear. Failure in The Rabbit Haul is just an opportunity to do better, made even easier by permanent upgrades, unlocks, and town restoration, all retaining progress even after a lost run.
After seeing the gameplay trailer, the press release said it best: “There is no single way to survive the night, only better ways to prepare for it.”
