As an asymmetrical horror game that relies on a constant internet connection, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has received a patch today, complete with notes in order to provide a smoother experience.

It has been just over two weeks since The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game was released, and the developers over at GUN are aiming to improve the title with subsequent patches. Today, they unleashed the patch notes for update 1.000.003, which seeks to improve gameplay and make the experience as fluid as possible for fans everywhere. The patch is now live, and it fixes many of the problems that plagued the title since launch, including that pesky XP bug that showed players level up after every game where they did not.

  • PC stuttering on the ‘Ultra graphics settings has been fine-tuned, which improves graphical fidelity and fixes the common frame rate drop when attacking/grappling/tackling opponents on the setting.
  • Voice chat now works in lobbies for party members.
  • XP Progression problems surrounding ‘false level ups’ have been fixed. The UI issue that would appear to rank up after every match although the player did not obtain the required XP to do so has now been fixed, including the false display of XP gained when finishing a match.
  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre also made it a point to fix many crashes and game freezes, specifically naming the PS4 crash that occurs when earning in-game trophies.
  • Key Rebinding has now been added to the PC version of the game.
  • A common complaint about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is how long players wait in lobbies, so lobbies can now launch with six players instead of the required seven.
  • The Quick Match selection has been moved to the top of the menu options when looking to join games with the hope games will start faster and more efficiently.
  • PC platforms have been temporarily removed from Cross-Play so developers can stifle cheating present on the platform.
  • Various anti-cheat Improvements have also been made.

While the developers of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are hard at work on fixing the many bugs that are still present in the title, fans can rest assured they’re still actively working on it. The title will continually get better and run more smoothly in the immediate future.
