Despite the second episode of The Walking Dead – Final Season being released today, the game is now being pulled out of digital sales.

The Steam page no longer has the game for purchase, and the it’s the same case with the Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store. Telltale has also requested a temporary pause of sales for The Walking Dead – Final Season on GOG.com.

“Telltale has requested a temporary pause of sales of The Walking Dead – Final Season. For all up to date Telltale news, please refer to their official Twitter page,” the request read.

Last Friday morning, the company dismissed a majority of its employees and only a group of 25 stayed to fulfill obligations.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult year for Telltale as we worked to set the company on a new course,” Pete Hawley, the CEO at Telltale, wrote in a statement.

“Unfortunately, we ran out of time trying to get there. We released some of our best content this year and received a tremendous amount of positive feedback, but ultimately, that did not translate to sales,” he explained. “With a heavy heart, we watch our friends leave today to spread our brand of storytelling across the games industry.”

This week, Telltale wrote although that they can’t make any promises, they are actively working towards a solution that will get episodes three and four of The Walking Dead –  Final Season out to players.

“Multiple potential partners have stepped forward to express interest in helping see the The Final Season through to completion,” the statement read.

As of now, Telltale has not posted an update on their Twitter about pulling out of digital sales.
