Toronto Defiant Signs Korean DPS Duo Ahead of Season 2 1

Toronto’s newly unveiled Overwatch League team continues to add new pieces to their roster with the introduction of Do-hyung ‘Stellar’ Lee and Seung-hyun ‘Ivy’ Lee

The pair previously played together in Korean Contenders for O2 Ardeont, where they finished second in season one, and fifth in season two. Ivy is best known for his play on DPS characters Genji, Pharah and Sombra, while Stellar specializes in playing Tracer. They were announced via a tweet on the Defiant’s official Twitter page.

Ivy and Stellar are the third and fourth players in Toronto Defiant history, and they join Se-hyeon’ Neko‘ Park and Kang-jae ‘Envy‘ Lee, who were announced this past weekend at EGLX. Both Envy and Neko played for Overwatch League teams last year, as Envy played for the L.A. Valiant and Neko played for the Boston Uprising.

Envy was L.A.’s off-tank for the beginning of season one, before the arrival of Indy ‘Space’ Halpern and he is best known for his play on D.vA, Zarya and Roadhog. He is also the first captain in the Defiant’s history and according to team officials, has an uncanny ability to be a leader. Neko is a support player who mainly plays as the orb hurling zen master, Zenyatta. He was part of the longest unbeaten streak in Overwatch League history, as a member of the Boston Uprising, and was voted into the all-star game last year for his efforts.

Last week the Defiant held a brand unveiling party where they revealed the team’s name and logo to a couple hundred fans in person and thousands more online. The Defiant is coached by former London Spitfire head coach Beom-joon ‘Bishop’ Lee and their general manager is Jae-Sun ‘Jae’ Won. Season two of the Overwatch League kicks off on February 14th, 2019.
