Watch Dogs: Legion Gets Zombie DLC

Watch Dogs: Legion is getting a new DLC, titled Legion of the Dead, that will add zombie modes to the open-world action-adventure title.

Starting June 1st, 2021; you can download Title Update 4.5, which adds the Legion of the Dead DLC drop to your copy of Watch Dogs: Legion. This DLC turns the game into a Left 4 Dead-esque, PvE roguelite for up to four players. While the new mode is only entering its alpha stage, and will continue to be tweaked as changes and updates come; this seems to be an interesting refresh for the Ubisoft title.

During an interview with IGN, Watch Dogs: Legion online director Jean-Pascal Cambiotti discussed the DLC.

“I think there’s something inherently fun about playing with zombies, beyond the instant gratification of destroying them. We were inspired by the multiple portrayals of zombies across popular culture, and in the game, we made the decision to make zombies slower but lethal. They can be used as a gameplay tool to create chaos by luring them into fortified Albion layouts while you sneak in and save your precious ammo for another fight.”

According to Cambiotti, the idea for Legion of the Dead was to expand on existing systems and “flip them on its head.” Taking on droves of zombies in this already dense version of London will certainly be something to check out, as Watch Dogs: Legion has been seeing its fair share of off-the-wall DLC.

While it’s unclear whether the DLC will come with a charge, is part of the season pass, or is simply free, you can keep an eye out for the update today. Players will get to experience this mode unique to the Watch Dogs universe soon, and hopefully more interesting content will be coming to Watch Dogs: Legion soon.
