The first official trailer for season two of the award-winning TV show Westworld has been released and it’s full of bloodshed.
HBO released the new trailer on YouTube today and it features a substantial look ahead at what to expect in the show’s second season which is set to debut on April 22nd of this year. The show’s first season was critically acclaimed as it won four Emmy Awards and was nominated for an additional 17.
The series takes place in the Westworld amusement park, a vacation spot for rich people that is populated by robotic hosts. Westworld allows its visitors to live out their fantasies, no matter how illicit they may be, without consequences. The central conflict in the series comes as a result of a botched update in the hosts’ programming that causes some of them to learn the truth about themselves and their world.
Westworld is based on the 1973 film with the same title that was written and directed by Jurassic Park author David Crichton. The current Westworld series is the second TV show based on the film property and it joins the short-lived 1980’s tv series entitled Beyond Westworld.
