Preorders for the Pokémon TCG Classic Collection officially launched today, offering collectors some vintage cards and new ones.

Whether you are an avid Pokémon TCG card collector for a long time or a new one like me, this new collection is a must-grab one. The Pokémon TCG Classic Collection is bringing back the original fan-favourite cards from the Kanto region that have gone out of print for so long. These timeless cards are a must-have in everyone and anyone’s TCG collection. Preorders have just gone live, with the official release date set for November 17.

While the price tag on the Pokémon TCG Classic Collection comes with a steep price of $400, it is definitely worth it! Here is a look at what fans get in this collection:

  • 3 60-card decks starring classic pokemon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise
  • 3 deck boxes
  • 3 sets of card sleeves
  • 1 two-player game board
  • 1 toolbox case with randomizer
  • 2 sets of damage counter cones
  • 2 sets of condition markers

Yes, you have seen that right! The classic Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise have returned! The 3 60-card deck will be featuring the collaborative efforts of The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc. and design firm nendo, inspired by the Pokémon TCG Base Set and quintessential cards from throughout the game’s long history. Every single card will be foil cards and ready to play right out of the box. While these are preconstructed decks, they have been specially made to feature the best Kanto region Grass, Fire and Water Energy types. But that is not all.

Suicune ex, Lugia ex, Ho-Oh ex, Sun Seed, Scorching Charcoal, and Drops in the Ocean were announced as the six new cards included in the Pokémon TCG Classic Collection. And for the first time in English, a Mr. Mime card previously released in Japan will be making its debut. While the images for these cards are confirmed, the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise (and Professor Oak trainer card) have not been finalized yet.

If the toolbox case/briefcase was not cool enough to get you interested, I do not know what will. The colour designs have a simple, refined white and black look. This is a great competitive collection too, especially if you want to flex some OG cards. But of course, the cards in these decks will not be legal for tournament play, as confirmed on the Pokémon website. However, they can provide some great in-house battle entertainment.

In case you missed out on some of the other latest collections, check out the Pokémon Trick or Trade Booster Bundle. This one is perfect for the Halloween season as it contains 50 mini packs with 3 cards each, all with an exclusive Pumpkin Pikachu stamp on each card. The best part is it only costs $20 for this bundle, as it is intended to spice things up for trick-or-treaters to receive with their candy.
