World of Tanks’ annual holiday extravaganza, Holiday Ops, is set to kick off soon, and this year there will be a special ambassador to help things along—the one and only Jason Statham.
If you’re unfamiliar with World of Tanks, it’s a team-based massively multiplayer online action game focused on strategic tank warfare. Players can engage in the bone-shaking tank battles of World War II – featuring armoured vehicles from over 11 different nations, with a real dedication to historical accuracy. World of Tanks is entirely free-to-play, and the developer, Wargaming, also has an offering of other warfare-focused titles, including World of Warships and World of Warplanes.
Statham is of course known for his iconic roles in films like The Meg, Transporter, and the Fast & The Furious franchise. But this year he’ll be using his talents to help dish out missions to you in World of Tanks. A press release charmingly states he’ll bring his “rugged persona and sharp one-liners” to the event. In the trailer, after saving Santa himself, Statham also notes “I have driven almost every type of vehicle in my career but blasting around in a tank is the most exhilarating.” You can watch the full trailer below. Statham is also far from the only iconic action star to serve as ambassador, as 2022 featured Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Holiday Opps is a yearly event in World of Tanks that offers a cheery aesthetic, special rewards, and unique missions to undertake. This year the event will run from December 6, 2024 until January 13, 2025. During this time, Statham will transform your hangar into a much more festive version, and give you special assignments and battle missions.
While Wargaming hasn’t announced the exact details of this year’s Holiday Opps, looking at last year’s iteration should give you a pretty good idea of how the event plays out. Last year included 28 unique missions and 20 assignments, all of which would earn you resources you could spend on holiday rewards.
