The ASUS ROG Pelta headset stood out to me, as I consider the ROG brand one of my go-to choices for PC peripherals. The Pelta’s multi-platform compatibility—not only with PC, but also with PlayStation platforms and the Nintendo Switch—made it an interesting prospect to review.
Inside the box, the ASUS ROG Pelta comes with a detachable microphone, a USB-C 2.4 GHz dongle, a standard instruction set and, of course, the headset itself. Unlike previous offerings from ROG—ASUS’s Republic of Gamers brand, which have featured a recessed slot for storing the dongle within the headset, the Pelta does not offer such a compartment. This omission could make the dongle easier to misplace, though in real-world use, keeping it plugged into your device of choice is the most practical option.

Outside of the dongle, the ROG Pelta ships with a detachable boom mic—a thoughtful inclusion, given that the headset also features Bluetooth connectivity. This dual-mode functionality makes it viable for daily use with music or general media. As for build quality, the headset uses a mostly plastic chassis, but it doesn’t feel cheap. Instead, it feels light and comfortable to wear.

The black and grey aesthetic also imparts a premium and classy look, giving the ROG Pelta a metallic, gunmetal finish that looks high-end. The ROG branding on the headset is also understated, aside from the RGB LED-powered logo on both the left and right cups of the device—something that can be turned off to conserve battery or maintain that subtle appearance. Finally, just under the headband of the Pelta, there is an adjustable strap that allows for a comfortable and snug fit for most head sizes.
Comfort-wise, the headset is very light on the head, with the cups themselves encompassing both ears fully in a soft cloth material, which, although not the best feeling earcups I’ve used, felt fine even after prolonged use.

The left cup of the ASUS ROG Pelta houses most of the tech found in the device, including the keyed mic port and the dedicated controls to operate the headset. Controls on the headset include a standard volume wheel, a function button and a toggle between Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz, which, when in the middle position, shuts power to the device.
With a promised battery life of around 70 hours or higher, if you wish to disable the RGB lights on the ASUS ROG Pelta, I can safely say that ASUS’s latest offering is amongst some of the longest-lasting headphones I’ve tested. For those who may forget to charge the headset (as it seldom will require it), the ROG Pelta offers a quick charge option that promises 3 hours of battery life from just 15 minutes of juice.
In terms of sound quality for both the mic and the headset itself, the ROG Pelta offers a robust and nuanced-sounding microphone that does an excellent job of isolating your voice from background elements. The 50 mm drivers of the headphones provide a rich soundscape, perfectly capable of adding a level of dimensionality to your games.

In other words, 3D audio or directional noise in games is well reproduced, making the headset viable for competitive use. When it comes to music or general media consumption, the ROG Pelta gets the job done, but for audiophiles, a dedicated pair of open-back or higher-end headphones would be preferred.

Switching the device between different platforms and Bluetooth profiles is as simple as moving the included dongle to your device of choice or toggling to the Bluetooth setting, making the ROG Pelta a great fit for those who like to play games on multiple platforms.
Finally, the ASUS ROG Pelta, like most ROG products, uses a version of the Armoury crate software when using the headset on a PC, which allows the user to tweak the audio balance, mess with compression options, change the language of the prompt assistant and fine-tune both the mic and the RGB lighting effects.

The ASUS ROG Pelta stands out as an excellent wireless headset that balances performance, versatility and value. Priced reasonably for its feature set, it caters to gamers looking for a multi-platform solution that doesn’t sacrifice quality. With robust PC software integration, strong wireless connectivity and the convenience of Bluetooth, it’s a well-rounded option for anyone who frequently switches between gaming on PC, consoles and mobile devices.
