Coming home to a clean house – a satisfying feeling everyone is surely familiar with. But accomplishing that task regularly is no easy feat. Vacuuming is easily one of the longest and most tedious chores that have to be done often to keep your living environment tidy. Wouldn’t it be great if someone, or something, could do it for you while you worked on other tasks? Introducing the Eureka E20 Plus, a robot vacuum to assist you in both vacuuming and even mopping.
Building on the valuable insights and extensive feedback gathered from their initial successful product, the E10s, Eureka has made remarkable enhancements with this year’s E20 Plus. During my hands-on testing of the E20 Plus, it quickly became apparent that Eureka has meticulously refined and improved nearly every aspect of the previous model. Each feature appears to have been thoughtfully considered and upgraded, giving the E20 Plus an overall polished look.

Starting with one of the most important features: the suction power. Eureka has built in a powerful 8,000 Pa of suction power into the Eureka E20 Plus, double that of last year’s model. What does that mean to you? Better cleaning of more debris on the floor, resulting in tidier floors and carpets. I was shocked to see how well the Eureka E20 Plus was able to pick up all kinds of messes ranging from cookie or food crumbs to pet hair, and even chunks of mud from my work boots after a long day at work.
“The Eureka E20 Plus offers a significant upgrade from its predecessor, with enhanced features that make it more efficient and powerful.”
When it came to navigating the house, Eureka has built in a plethora of functionality to make the E20 Plus more efficient and smart, generally eliminating the need for you to free it from places where it got stuck. Like their top-of-the-line model, Eureka has built in their DuoDetect AI 3D Obstacle Avoidance technology, which serves as the eyes of the Eureka E20 Plus. This allows it to easily navigate your house (or office) and avoid running into chairs, sofas, or even pets that could be lying on the floor in the way. Even dark spaces like under a bed or sofa are no match for the E20 Plus, meaning you could have it clean your house while you sleep.
Carpets and rugs, especially thicker pile ones, are generally tough for robot vacuums to navigate over and clean, as their wheels often get stuck, or they simply can’t get enough grip to drive over them. The Eureka E20 Plus had no issues in this aspect during my testing and even managed to clean some very thick pile carpets in my house, extracting and sucking up loads of pet hair with relative ease.

While the E20 Plus is capable of mopping, I wouldn’t rely on it for the best mop job ever. Sure, it can mop your floor, but I didn’t feel the performance was adequate enough to make it a feature I’d keep coming back to. Additionally, the water tank on the Eureka E20 Plus is only large enough to hold water or cleaning solution for a single large room as opposed to an entire house. If Eureka could add an external container for it to refill itself when empty, this feature could be more useful.
“With 8,000 Pa of suction power, the Eureka E20 Plus delivers better cleaning, effectively picking up everything from crumbs to pet hair.”
One minor gripe my family had with the Eureka E20 Plus was its noise level. In turbo mode and deep cleaning, the E20 Plus was a little louder than we would have liked; however, in lower power modes, this wasn’t as big an issue for me. I was generally willing to accept it, given that it’s a robot cleaning rather than a human, who could complete the task faster, thereby reducing the time you hear the noise. I personally wasn’t overly bothered by it, but everyone’s noise tolerance may vary.
One feature I found particularly useful was the ability to section off rooms and areas that the E20 Plus mapped out, allowing for cleaning of only specific rooms at certain times, such as not entering a home office during work hours to avoid disruptions or staying away from a sleeping baby’s room while still cleaning the rest of the house.

You can also set up cleaning schedules to clean either the whole house or specific rooms at different times, like cleaning the house while you’re sleeping to wake up to a clean home or while you’re away at work. Thanks to the Wi-Fi connectivity, you can also get the Eureka E20 Plus to start cleaning remotely when you’re not home.
I was fairly impressed with everything Eureka packed into the relatively compact Eureka E20 Plus. While it does have its quirks and may not replace a human in terms of vacuuming quality, it does an adequate job at cleaning. You may occasionally need to go over a few spots it misses, but for the added convenience of having potentially one less task to worry about during your busy schedule, I feel Eureka has knocked this one out of the park.
