Last year, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav—their newest robot vacuum cleaner—was announced, and as of March 19th, 2024, it will be available for purchase in Canada and the US.

Developed by an engineering team that is based across all of Dyson’s campuses, the 360 Vis Nav features a unique Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology that utilizes a 360-degree fish-eye lens vision system to see where to clean, remember where it has been and can create dust maps off your home.

Chief Engineer Jake Dyson explored the focus that went into designing the Dyson 360 Vis Nav, “A robot vacuum cleaner should not be a novelty. We know there are many frustrations with current robot vacuum cleaners – some have low suction power, some add additional functionality that compromises the vacuum performance, and others may have inefficient navigation systems that often get stuck and don’t do a proper job of vacuuming. Dyson Engineers have focused on developing machines that overcome these challenges and which increasingly anticipate our needs, understand its environment and operate autonomously.”

Something to note about the Dyson 360 Vis Nav is its full-width brush bar. While many robot vacuums require bristles that sweep the dirt to the center of the device, the 360 Vis Nav brings a brush bar that spans the width of the device. On top of this, they have also implemented a side edge actuator, ” Wall-follow sensors allow it to get up to the edge of a room and follow the wall, deploying the actuator to pick up dust from the edge. As a result, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav picks up more than any other robot across any floor.”

Oh, and did I mention that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav is a robot vacuum that can climb? Its dual-link suspension system can climb up to 21mm. This doesn’t sound huge, but it means any small lips on your floor or carpet won’t cause issues during cleaning. It can also fit under furniture as low as 99mm from the floor.

The software in the Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum looks just as impressive as the hardware, with deep cleaning reports available, which let you know about dirt and dust hotspots in your home via the MyDyson app. This is where users can also map out zones, schedule cleans and more.

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav will be available in Canada for $1499 CAD and in the US for 1199 USD on March 19, 2024.
