I wasn’t expecting much from another gaming chair — but Razer’s Iskur V2 X blew me away. Like people, gaming chairs come in all shapes and sizes, and more often than not, it’s become easier to pick which one is the best fit for you. We all have our preferences when it comes to chairs — some prefer the simple and clean look of a leather office chair, while others want their chair to be a direct reflection of their personality, whether through custom stitching or a design themed after their favourite video game or fandom.
I typically have a hard time finding a good chair. I’m 5’11” (six feet on a good day) and weigh about 270 pounds. Most of the gaming chairs I’ve had — or at least tried — weren’t wide enough for me and became very uncomfortable after a couple of hours of use. For this reason, I’ve usually stuck to the traditional office style or something ergonomic like the Autonomous ErgoChair 2. So, I was pleasantly surprised to try out the Razer Iskur V2 X, and I can now say this is by far one of the best gaming chairs I’ve used in a very long time. I think it’s a must-have.

I was wary about trying a new gaming chair, knowing my track record with them. It was a very welcome surprise to see that the Razer Iskur V2 X immediately addressed my main issue with most gaming chairs: a small and narrow base. The widest point of the Iskur V2 X’s wider-designed base measures 21.4 inches, and its narrowest part is 14.6 inches. This eliminates the restrictive racing seat feel and provides more real estate while seated.

In addition to the wider base, Razer also included contoured high-density foam cushions. I especially liked this feature as it moulds to your body and gives you that “broken-in” comfort by the third day of use. I find that to properly test a chair, you need to go the distance — so I did my best to find any excuse to sit in it and see how long I could go without becoming uncomfortable.
I work from home, so that was the first true test: how would I feel using this chair for seven to eight hours during a workday? The answer is simple — I felt great. The integrated lumbar support works its magic, especially for someone like me who’s constantly adjusting their posture to avoid sitting like a gremlin and wrecking their back. On top of that, I really enjoyed the breathable, multi-layered fabric design. I never felt overheated or uncomfortably warm. The fabric is smooth and not scratchy — a common irritation with many chairs I’ve tested in the past.

Long gaming sessions in the Razer Iskur V2 X were an absolute joy. You’d think using a chair all day for work and all night for gaming would make you resent it, right? But not here. One night, I played Dragon Age: The Veilguard for eight hours trying to finally beat the game, and I didn’t once feel physically fatigued. A few days later, I booted up Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for an intense gaming session with friends and, let’s just say, I felt like a true esports athlete. The chair features an adjustable 152-degree recline that accommodates multiple positions. Lying down while gaming may not be for everyone, but I’m sure some people out there enjoy it. Tilting the chair forward a few degrees created a “locked-in” feel that made those sessions even better.

Of course, with the good comes the bad — balance is essential. My biggest complaint with the Razer Iskur V2 X is its 2D armrests. They’re small and move around far too much for my liking. As a wider person, I found myself adjusting them every 10 to 15 minutes, which is far too often. Typically, 2D armrests are meant to offer a natural feel when resting your arms, but I found myself constantly fighting with them. After five or six days of fiddling, I eventually found a sweet spot — though I’m not sure how long it will last.
Visually, the chair is stunning. Its sleek, minimal look is the icing on the cake. I’m not a big fan of massive logos or loud branding, but I really liked how Razer kept things simple here. The small details — like the classic green stitching on the logo and along the chair’s edges — contribute to a timeless silhouette that will look great in any office or gaming setup.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the Razer Iskur V2 X is, pound for pound, the best gaming chair I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The wider seat was perfectly designed, the breathable material kept me comfortable during long sessions, and overall, I struggled to find many faults — aside from the armrests. If you’re like me and need a gaming chair that’s a bit wider but still stylish, I highly recommend picking up the Razer Iskur V2 X at your earliest convenience.
