Secretlab has made a name for itself with its gaming chairs and well-built accessories, boasting unique designs, solid construction and a rock-solid reputation. With the introduction of the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro, the company has entered the world of standing desks, bringing its experience and quality—along with a gamer aesthetic that stands out. Designed for creators, professionals and gamers alike, the MAGNUS Pro combines sharp design with real-world performance, offering a distinctive desk that stands out from the crowd.
I’ve always been a fan of the Secretlab unboxing experience—even with the build of the non-standing version of the MAGNUS desk, and the MAGNUS Pro is no different. Flat-packed in precision-cut foam, every piece reflects a build philosophy rooted in stability and style. Secretlab offers the desk in two sizes: the standard model (59.1 by 27.6 inches) priced at $799, which we received, and the expansive XL (70.0 by 31.5 inches) priced at $949.

Both provide ample real estate for multi-monitor setups, broad desktop peripherals or a minimalist array of essential tech. With a height range from 25.6 to 49.2 inches, the MAGNUS Pro accommodates nearly any user’s preferred ergonomic position, whether seated or standing. Judging by its weight and build quality, it’s clearly designed to withstand years of regular use.
Unpacking and assembly are straightforward, supported by clear documentation. Provided you have the space to work and aren’t installing extra accessories, you should be able to get everything set up in under an hour. (This may vary depending on which accessories you’ve added.) While there’s a short wait before you can enjoy the desk in full, once everything is assembled, you’ll find a well-crafted, distinctive-looking gaming desk that’s built to take a beating.
The MAGNUS Pro’s frame is a robust construction of steel-clad MDF, engineered for both strength and visual appeal. At over 120 pounds assembled, the desk remains surprisingly mobile compared to other standing desks—especially considering its rock-solid stability across its full height range. Even near its maximum height, the desk resists shakes and wobbles, a feat rarely achieved in this category.

The MAGNUS Pro delivers on Secretlab’s design sensibilities, offering smooth, minimal lines, a subtle control strip set flush with the front edge, and a seamless expanse of metal that defines the look. If the included MAGPAD isn’t to your taste, there are several others you can try—or you can choose to go without one and work directly on the metal surface. For this review, Secretlab sent over their white colourway along with the grey MAGPAD. It’s striking, although you do have the option to get the MAGNUS Pro in black, as well as a range of mats, including branded ones based on games, so there are plenty of ways to get your desk setup to fit your taste.
Much like we saw with the original Magnus desk, Secretlab has put work into making cable management as easy as possible with this iteration—something especially important with standing desks. With the MAGNUS Pro, Secretlab’s engineers have made it simple to route all your cables, with even the power for the motors housed invisibly inside a power supply column built into one leg, then fed into a full-length tray that closes neatly with a sturdy magnetic lid.
The result is a workspace consistently free of trailing wires and visual clutter—an instant upgrade for anyone tired of tangled cables or anxious pets knocking things loose. Powering everything from a gaming PC and monitors to chargers and cameras, the MAGNUS Pro becomes the silent backbone of a modern office. I saw a similar solution with the Blacklyte Atlas gaming desk, and while I liked how it was implemented there, Secretlab has refined the concept, giving the overall experience a cleaner, more user-friendly appeal where everything can be connected as discreetly as possible.

After using the MAGNUS Pro for over a month, I can confidently say Secretlab has created something that feels premium in every way—including its standout feature: the ability to shift from sitting to standing with the push of a button. The dual motorized columns operate quietly, adjusting the desk smoothly and quickly between preset heights.
The touch control panel, seamlessly embedded along the front edge, offers three customizable height settings and a lock to prevent accidental changes—especially helpful in shared workspaces or family environments. The collision detection system is quick and responsive, protecting any gear underneath the desk. No jolts or abrupt stops break the flow; transitions are fluid, making it easy to stay comfortable and focused through long sessions.
A desk built with creators and gamers in mind needs to withstand serious use—and thankfully, Secretlab has taken the time to build something that holds up over time. The materials are all premium, with both the standard and XL models supporting up to 265 pounds, easily handling high-end gaming setups or full creative studio rigs. While the five-year warranty isn’t industry-leading—some direct competitors offer twice that—the overall feedback on the frame and electronics points to a build that should stay reliable through years of daily use.

As with most Secretlab gear, customization is part of the experience—and the MAGNUS Pro is no exception. Optional monitor arms, under-the-desk tower mounts, colour-matched cable anchors, and magnetic desk mats make it a dream for anyone who loves fine-tuning their setup. That said, once you start adding accessories, the price can climb quickly. And with the base model already starting at $799, it’s fair to question whether other feature-rich desks might offer better value.
Still, Secretlab’s modular design and smart cable management make the MAGNUS Pro feel purpose-built not just for today, but for many years to come of creative work and gaming. If you’re on a tighter budget, there are more affordable standing desks out there—including some with a solid level of customization and a decent range of accessories. But few feel this intentional, or come with features that make your workspace feel truly your own.
While it’s not the cheapest or most customizable option out there, the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro delivers where it counts. Built with creators and gamers in mind, it offers a standing desk experience that feels genuinely purpose-built—balancing smart design, solid performance and long-term adaptability. If you’re ready to invest in a desk that supports your work and looks the part doing it, the MAGNUS Pro might just be the last one you’ll ever need.
