OnePlus Buds Pro 3
Noise Cancellation on the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 earbuds has been very interesting. It manages to block out everything you don’t want but keeps everything you do. OnePlus coins this as their Adaptive Noise Cancellation. Basically, the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 will listen to your surroundings and change how much sound is blocked out based on what is going on. According to OnePlus, this will also help with battery life in the long run.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 3 earbuds have been a blessing during these last two weeks of testing. I was never low-battery at an inopportune time and knew fast charging had my back. I was never uncomfortable or struggling with settings and controls. I didn’t feel like I had to cut corners to be met with an impressive price. OnePlus is very quickly becoming a top contender when it comes to smartphones, tablets and wearables, and the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 earbuds are just another clear example of what they can do.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2
Google has put a lot of it into the Pixel Buds Pro 2, namely, the Tensor A1 chip inside. The Tensor A1 allows the earbuds to have ultra-low latency audio processing that adapts to the environment around you up to a staggering 3 million times per second. The result is noise cancellation that is up to twice as strong as what you got on the Pixel Buds Pro. As well, the Tensor A1 chip affords the Pixel Buds Pro 2 the ability to have better battery life despite their smaller form factor.
Speaking of battery life, The Pixel Buds Pro 2 will get roughly eight hours of battery life on the buds themselves and an additional 30 hours from the charging case. Not bad at all for something so small and lightweight. In my testing, I was getting around seven hours of life with varying levels of noise cancellation. I would switch between regular noise cancellation and Transparency mode if I was in a room with people I needed to hear at a moment’s notice. There were a couple of times I needed some battery in a hurry, and with the Pixel Buds Pro 2, a quick 15-minute charge gives up to three hours of usage.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are amazing earbuds and I can absolutely see myself using them for the foreseeable future. My only real issue with them has to be the price. There’s no easy way to say it: they’re $299 CAD. That’s an awful lot for a pair of earbuds that aren’t made by Apple. What you get for the price is good, but I would have been more sold on a $249 price tag. I can still wholeheartedly recommend the Pixel Buds Pro 2, though, as they are easily the best earbuds I’ve used this year. The sound quality and noise cancellation are second to none.

Edifier Neobuds Pro 2 Wireless
The Neobuds Pro 2 features a fairly compact design, opting for a slender body to house components much like the Apple Airpods or Razer Hammerheads. Weighing only 5.6g per earbud, they are exceptionally light when worn. Thanks to the silicone ear tip the Neobuds Pro 2 fit comfortably and securely in the ear canal. Edifier has opted to include 7 interchangeable ear tips of different sizes to ensure that, no matter the person, the Neobuds will fit well.
When coupled with a traditional dynamic driver, the resulting audio reproduction is robust and crystal clear. In the Neobuds Pro 2 application, the result is an impressive audio listening experience. The audio profile is clear, detailed and balanced. Listening to music is an absolute treat, Bass feels powerful while the mid and highs (especially in vocals) are clean, clear and beautifully balanced with the instruments. While there are options to manually EQ the audio, thanks to Edifier Connect, the default “classic” profile sounds beautiful.
The Edifier Neobuds Pro 2 are an exceptional pair of earbuds. While the ANC isn’t quite as powerful as I would have liked, the audio profile of the Neobuds Pro 2 more than makes up for this small critique. Smart, comfortable design, along with incredible audio and a handy case, make the Edifier Neobuds Pro 2 a great option for someone in the market for exceptional audio quality without breaking the bank. Priced at USD $129.99, the Edifier Neobuds Pro 2 are some of the best bang for your buck earbuds on the market.

EarFun Air Pro 4 Earbuds
Battery life is impressive, keeping you away from the charger for much longer than nearly all other earbuds I’ve tested. The Air Pro 4 earbuds themselves deliver up to 11 hours of playback, and the case provides up to 52 hours in total. With ANC enabled, this decreases to 7.5 hours and 35 hours, respectively, but this is typical for any set of earbuds. When it’s time to charge, the case can provide an additional 2 hours of listening time in just 10 minutes.
As with all EarFun products I’ve tested, the Air Pro 4s delivers exceptional audio quality, thanks partly to the larger-than-average 10mm driver paired with Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and LDAC Codec technologies. Music always sounded rich and detailed, with no noticeable distortion. Audio can be further tuned in the EarFun app, where you can adjust the level of ANC, EQ, and even customize the controls on each earbud to your liking.
I enjoyed my experience with the EarFun Air Pro 4s. Like all its products, EarFun packs a lot of tech into its offerings while keeping prices competitive with the bigger players in the market. However, as the market becomes increasingly competitive, EarFun may need to innovate more, particularly when it comes to battery charging times. While it’s not a major concern for some users, those who occasionally forget to charge their buds may find themselves looking elsewhere.
EarFun continues to deliver audio products that offer great value for the price with a detailed audio experience, however, as the market continues to innovate, EarFun will have to do a little work to keep up if they want to remain a competitive alternative to larger brands.
