When one thinks of television brands, you’d be forgiven if you automatically jumped to big names like Sony, Samsung, LG, and others, as those are the ones that have been around, it feels like forever. Hisense is a brand that is currently enjoying a surge in popularity due to a number of different factors, such as price, quality, and viewing experience. When the biggest sporting event in history comes around, you want the best viewing experience you can get, and that’s exactly where Hisense comes into play.
As a brand, Hisense has been around since the late 1960s in China and expanded into the TV market ten years later and hasn’t looked back, producing its first flat panel TV in 2004 and acquiring television giant Toshiba in 2018. They now operate in over 160 countries and have offices/manufacturing plants/R&D centres/etc. all over the world.

2026’s FIFA World Cup marks the third consecutive World Cup that Hisense and FIFA have partnered for, and this year is bigger than ever. As an Official Sponsor, Hisense has provided all of the display equipment for the FIFA World Cup Video Operation Room (VOR), as well as the Video Assistant Referee Review displays.
“Hisense continues to make good decisions when it comes to their technology and delivering it to the public, and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next as they expand into kitchen appliances and beyond.”
Hisense’s RGB MiniLED technology in their TVs is the driving factor behind this partnership, and I can absolutely see why. RGB MiniLED is Hisense’s ground-breaking technology that was first introduced at CES 2025, and brings near-unmatched colour and clarity right into your home. Utilizing independent red, green, and blue light sources to deliver rich contrasts, more realistic detail, and intense colour purity, RGB MiniLED delivers some of the best television displays I have ever seen.

These displays will allow officials to see replays in as true-to-life colour as possible, which can be the difference between calls going one way or another, especially in low-light situations. That same technology can be brought into your home as well, as RGB MiniLED technology is available in a lot of Hisense TVs, like the UR8 and UR9.
So when Hisense very generously invited me down to New Jersey to see some of their new products and take in a World Cup match live, I knew I had to take this opportunity. As a viewer who has watched sports and played sports my entire life, there was nothing that bugged me more about TV’s than faded or bland colour. After seeing the capability that the UR9 has when compared to similar models from other brands, it was quickly apparent to me that Hisense had stepped up its game in the last year and a half.
We were then given a short presentation by Hisense USA’s Chief Marketing Officer, Sarah Larsen, who talked about the importance of consumer experience in the TV market, citing their campaign for the World Cup (and beyond) called Out Host With Hisense. At its core, the campaign is about wanting to host the best World Cup watch parties and give your guests the best viewing experience possible. And with the RGB MiniLED technology, Hisense is making the decision very easy for consumers on the fence.
Hisense continues to make good decisions when it comes to their technology and delivering it to the public, and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next as they expand into kitchen appliances and beyond. Each time I think that TVs can’t get any better, I get proven wrong, so I am very much looking forward to the next innovation that Hisense comes up with.
