Fortnite Quick Guide: An Apple a Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Fortnite Preview: No Zombies Allowed 1

After a short delay, Fortnite’s latest 4.2 update is now live — aside from some under the hood tweaks, the biggest addition to the popular game, comes in the form of apples. Cgmagonline is here to help players find out just what this new addition means for the game.

And as like the old expression goes, apples in Fortnite, act as smalling healing items (+5), which when stacked can be a quick way of getting back to 100 HP without the need for some blue goo or first-aide drops. It should be noted, however, consuming an apple will only heal a marginal amount of health, but in battle-royale setting, even a little is better than nothing.

Thankfully, trees that bore apples are found in relative abundance, thanks to the island map being dense in forests. Not all trees bore fruits, however, players should be on the look-out, specifically look for the shorter, fuller looking trees as palm trees and willows don’t spawn the delicious red fruit. Apples tend to spawn on the base of the tree, rather than on it, itself and chopping down said trees don’t seem to yield in additional drops either. Areas such as Tomato Town and Lonely Lodge are good spots to keep an eye-out for the elusive fruit.

Hopefully, this new small addition will give players a little more wiggle room when it comes to surviving the often, harsh and deadly battlegrounds within Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode.
