Starbreeze Studios announced that their heist-themed game developed by Overkill Software has sold nearly 1.6 million copies, and about 1.26 million of them were sold digitally.
In August, Starbreeze said Payday 2 had made a profit six days ahead of its launch based on preorder sales alone. The retail version of the game sat at number eight on NPD’s top-ten sales chart for August.
Payday 2 is available for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
