The iconic Apogee Entertainment is back with fresh announcements for four of their indie titles, with announcements across last week’s Second Wind and Wishlisted showcases.
Based out of Dallas, Texas, Apogee Entertainment is an indie gaming publisher with modern hits like Turbo Overkill and Wizordum, and classics like Duke Nukem and Max Payne. Apogee was featured on the Second Wind, and Wishlisted showcases just last week, premiering several trailers and announcements for game titles, new and old. Included in the two showcases were published titles, Below the Stone, Littlelands, and LUCID, with Apogee’s very own developed title, Vexlands, featured as well.

After launching on Steam Early Access in November 2023, developer Strollarts is set to fully release their “punishing” extraction roguelike, Below the Stone, this summer on PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Below the Stone brings a dwarven take on the fast-paced roguelike genre, with tons of procedural content to fill out your descents down below. With a tagline proudly stating a 1.0 release, more content might just dig its way into the caverns below the stone down the line.

After being cooked up by indie developers Rafael Martin and Kyle Creamer for close to half a decade, Littlelands is ready to launch a Steam demo on May 4. Littlelands has all the cozy game staples like foraging, fishing, and chatting up friendly NPCs, with some exploration and light combat to add a little spice. The demo features about two hours of content, giving a taste of everything Littlelands has to offer before Martin and Creamer move towards a full release sometime in the future.

Eric Manahan, solo developer of The Matte Black Studio, is launching his 2D crystal-punk action-platformer RPG, LUCID, this summer, with a demo already available on Steam. Manahan invites us to the rich and vibrant world of Aedyn, with stunning pixel art visuals. The core gameplay loop involves making use of the protagonist’s Crystal Arts, magical crystal weapons such as a sword, axe, and spear, each one providing a unique way to interact with combat and parkour challenges.

Apogee’s own “cell-based” survival crafting adventure game, Vexlands, is releasing on PC and consoles this summer, with a “feature-rich” demo available now on Steam. The quirk of this game is the hexgrid map the overworld is made up of, with almost every hex needing to be purchased with gold coins to progress. There is also a super dense crafting system for making buildings for a home base, and equipment for taking on Vexlands’ dungeons.
This is only a partial 2026 lineup from Apogee, so they may have more fantastic titles releasing later this year. If you are interested, go check them out.
