Baldur's Gate 3 Release Window For Xbox Revealed & Will Appear At Game Awards

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still not found on the Xbox ecosystem of consoles, but today, Larian Studios has announced a release window for the title on Xbox, and it will show at the Game Awards.

Game of the Year nominee Baldur’s Gate 3 has been released to critical acclaim, and fans everywhere have exalted the title for Larian Studios’ storytelling and direction. But, despite not being named a PlayStation console exclusive, the title is missing from the Xbox platform. Larian Studios addressed this back in August, when CEO Swen Vincke posted on X (formerly Twitter) confirming the issues the title was having, mainly with functionality on the Xbox Series S, while also excitedly revealing the title would launch on the Xbox consoles “this year.”

Baldur'S Gate 3 Release Window For Xbox Revealed &Amp; Will Appear At Game Awards

Swen Vincke said after meeting with Phil Spencer, “We’ve found a solution that allows us to bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to Xbox players this year still, something we’ve been working towards for quite some time,” and it appears that this December will be that time. A new post from the official Larian Studios X account has revealed the title will be present at the Game Awards, and it will launch on Xbox platforms in December. Though, there is no mention of whether the Xbox Series S version will launch on the same day. That post can be seen below.

The challenges Larian Studios were having bringing the title to Xbox were based around split screen functionality on the Xbox Series S. Larian Studios seems to have rectified the issue by not including split screen functionality on the digital-only Xbox console. Still, CEO Vincke assures players, “Series S will not feature split-screen coop, but will also include cross-save progression between Steam and Xbox Series.”
