The Borderlands Film Has Given Fans An Exciting First Look

Today we finally got a look at images from the new Borderlands film from Eli Roth.

After an incredibly early announcement surfaced way back in 2015, a Borderlands film idea was birthed into existence. In 2020, Deadline reported a whole mess of information regarding the film, including Lionsgate’s involvement with production, and Eli Roth (Hostel, Knock Knock, The House with a Clock in Its Walls) would be on hand as Director. With Lionsgate, Arad Productions and Picturestart all at the helm for a potential Borderlands blockbuster, development on the film adaptation allegedly began at this point in 2020, with filming said to begin in 2021. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford also made a post on X (formerly Twitter), which can be seen below.

The last sneak peek we got of the cast in action on the Borderlands film was from actress Jamie Lee Curtis’s Instagram account, where she showed a shadowy silhouette of Cate Blanchett in character as the Siren, Lilith, which was posted back in June 2021. Today, Lionsgate has let People in and has given them an extra close look at what’s going on behind the scenes on the film before its release later this year, with some Borderlands film photos to check out. A photo of Cate Blanchett in character and a photo of the cast in character have been revealed, and they can be seen below.

The cast of the upcoming film is loaded with star talent and has Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jack Black as Claptrap, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Janina Gavankkar as Commander Knoxx, and Gina Gershon as Mad Moxxi.

The Borderlands film is in the final stages of production but is set to release on August 9, 2024, in theatres.
