After a whole May month of being teased with [REDACTED], Activision has finally spilled the beans and let it be known the next Call of Duty is Black Ops 6.
Earlier this month, Microsoft (and we now know Activision) launched a teaser with the Microsoft Xbox SGF 2024 showcase announcement. Scheduled to occur directly following the Xbox Showcase, a new title was set to have a direct (fans were swift to note that the orange logo resembled Call of Duty) to reveal another highly anticipated title. After a whole month of fans being relentlessly teased by “[REDACTED]” Activision has decided to rip the band-aid off early and announce, yes, the title is a Call of Duty game, and it is Black Ops 6.
A post from their official Call of Duty X (formerly Twitter) account has pulled back the black bar of redaction, and it can be seen below; it’s worth mentioning that there’s a whole lot unsaid in the second video Activision launched that can be seen below also (it’s another tease).
It appears Call of Duty may be blurring the lines between reality and video games with their #thetruthlies tag, similar to how the CEO of Arrowhead Games actively posts on X (formerly Twitter) to promote new additions to the Helldivers 2 landscape in a real-life propaganda marketing scheme that injects players into the game with a different layer of immersion. While #thetruthlies also refers to the ending of the last Black Ops game, where the protagonist is forced to choose between lying and the truth, Activision has taken things a step further with a vandalized Mount Rushmore in what appears to be USA Today. That can be seen below.

While Activision continues to roll out the hype train for Call of Duty Black Ops 6, fans can stay tuned for the Xbox Showcase and the no longer [REDACTED] showcase when they both launch on June 9.
