The avalanche of patches and changes doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon for Crimson Desert, as developer Pearly Abyss has already shared what players can expect in the next one, without detailing full patch notes or a date.
Posting on the Crimson Desert X account, Pearl Abyss announced that an extraction feature will be added to the game, letting you extract materials that you’ve already used in equipment refinement. That’s a genuinely huge addition to the game, as the primary way of strengthening Cliff is through upgrading weapons, but those materials are simply lost if you want to switch to other weaponsa nd more. Gathering materials can also be a huge time sink, so this, by and large, could drastically cut down on the time you spend chopping down trees or hacking apart mineral veins.
The only other detail we know about the patch currently is that it will also include new special mounts. No release date has been given, but considering how fast Pearl Abyss has implemented every other patch, the wait shouldn’t be that long. Crimson Desert has essentially seen one patch per week since its launch, a blistering pace that is, apparently, informed by the studio’s work on the MMORPG Black Desert, according to an interview with The Washington Post. Here’s a list of just a few of the changes the game has seen.
- New fast travel points, and the ability to fast travel while mounted, falling, swimming, or climbing.
- Overhauled the inventory system and additional inventory
- Boss rematches, and ability to re-clear enemy camps
- Massive changes to the combat system
- New weapons and armor
- Mineral deposits automatically marked on map
- Decreased stamina cost when gliding or flying
- Map filters for landmarks and points-of-interest
- Improvements to Damiane and Oongka’s skills
- Photo mode
Crimson Desert is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
