Behaviour Interactive is unleashing one of anime’s most terrifying protagonists in Dead by Daylight—Tokyo Ghoul‘s Ken Kaneki has arrived, and he’s not holding back.
Fans of horror and anime alike have reason to rejoice as Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki makes his bloody debut in Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical multiplayer hit, Dead by Daylight. Announced today, the crossover promises to provide players with a fresh and terrifying experience, blending the intense gameplay of Dead by Daylight with Tokyo Ghoul’s dark anime elements.
The update will be officially launched on April 2, 2025, after an early release on the Steam public test build on March 11. This new collaboration introduces Ken Kaneki as a sinister new Killer known as “The Ghoul.” This unexpected twist sees Kaneki, usually the conflicted protagonist, fighting to stay human, fully embracing his darkest impulses. You’ll get to experience Kaneki’s struggle firsthand, playing as the monstrous version of the character that The Entity has unleashed.
In the original Tokyo Ghoul anime and manga, Ken Kaneki becomes a hybrid after a life-saving surgery involving ghoul organs. He’s forced to survive by feeding on human flesh, and his humanity is always at war with his monstrous nature. Dead by Daylight uses this conflict, turning it into pure horror gameplay where players wield Kaneki’s Kagune tentacles.
This new Killer Power enables rapid movement and brutal strikes, ideal for swift, strategic attacks on survivors. Successful hits activate Enraged Mode, greatly amplifying Kaneki’s strength and agility, and from the sounds of this, this will make him one of the most kinetic and terrifying Killers to date.
To complement Kaneki’s arrival, Behaviour Interactive will also launch the Tokyo Ghoul Collection, featuring multiple iconic costumes and masks from the anime. Players can enjoy new cosmetic options such as the Rabbit outfit for Yui Kimura, the Eto costume for Nea Karlsson, and an Awakened Ghoul look for Kaneki himself. Additionally, distinctive masks will further immerse players in Tokyo Ghoul’s haunting aesthetic, available for characters like Jake Park, David King, Jonah Vasquez, and The Unknown.
This latest collaboration highlights Behaviour Interactive’s commitment to expanding Dead by Daylight’s immersive universe by partnering with iconic franchises, ensuring the game continually delivers fresh, engaging content for its community.
