Beyoncé fans and Disney fans alike can rejoice as Disney released its official cast for the upcoming CG-animated remake of The Lion King with Beyoncé in the role of Nala. The official Disney Twitter account unveiled the official cast on Wednesday. The film is set for release in 2019. The star-studded cast list includes celebrities like Donald Glover, John Oliver, and Keegan-Michael Key. It was revealed earlier in the year that James Earl Jones will be reprising his role as Mufasa. Check out the rest of the cast below.

During the D23 Expo this year, Disney’s official annual convention in July, it previewed the opening “Circle of Life” sequence from The Lion King to apparently positive reaction.
The Lion King will see Jon Favreau at its helm as director. Favreau also directed the live-action remake of The Jungle Book which came out last year, and is known for directing the Iron Man trilogy of films. The Jungle Book also prominently featured CG-animated animals.
The original animated The Lion King film was released in 1994. The upcoming film is part of Disney’s series of live-action remakes of its classic movies which include titles like Aladdin and Mulan, both are also set for release in 2019. The cast list for Aladdin was released earlier in the year, with Mena Massoud in the lead role. Aladdin is currently in filming. A cast list for Mulan has not been announced at this time and the film remains in pre-production.
