Indie Publisher DreadXP Unveils White Knuckle, The Latest Survival Horror Game

Indie Publisher DreadXP has announced a collaboration with the developer Dark Machine Games, welcoming White Knuckle, an FPS climbing game into its Horror family.

Developed by Dark Machine Games, DreadXP has announced a partnership with the developers to publish White Knuckle, a survival horror game that will be released as an early access later this year on Steam. As the players step foot into the game, they will need to climb the decaying setting with precision movement and sharp reflexes, manage the resources, dodge traps, and avoid deadly forces that seem to be lurking in the shadows, watching them as they climb.

Thrust into White Knuckle as a lone climber, players will need to ascend SUB-STRUCTURE 17, a giant, crumbling complex buried deep underground. With 10,000 metres of concrete and decay alongside an encroaching ooze from below, each climb will be a race against time as you navigate the dangerous environment, use precise movement with sharp reflexes, manage resources while scaling the crumbling walls, leap across gaps, dodge deadly traps—all while something lurks in the shadows, hunting you.

Although players will need to utilize speed to survive, they will also need to manage their limited inventory of tools and resources if they wish to avoid plummeting into eternity. If you are too slow to retrieve key items from your bag, it could result in a deadly fall, meaning you will need to have a good understanding of resource management and think on the spot, as you cannot rely solely on climbing. As players reach higher altitudes, the obstacles will become more dangerous, and as they enter new regions, they will face unique threats and challenges.

Although you are a lone climber in a crumbling structure, there seems to be a strange dweller that haunts the walls of SUB-STRUCTURE 17, intensifying the horror as the environment itself becomes more hostile and players are forced to constantly adapt their strategies to survive. From exploring areas such as the dusty silos, sewers of the Pipeworks and haunted piers of Habitation, each location will feature a distinct set of trials and enemies, adding to the ever-growing tension. From running, jumping and climbing to survival, every leap you make could either be beneficial or your last as you fall to your doom.

White Knuckle will be released as an Early Access later this year on Steam, but in the meantime, as you wait, players can have a feel of the game and practice with the Demo, which is available right now with a positive review and wishlist before the release of the game.
